Kerstin Basilewitsch

Photographer, traveler, technical diver and winner of the Danish Open 2026 in the Compact category.

About Kerstin

Kerstin is a curious and creative photographer with a strong connection to nature. Photography has been part of her life since she received her first camera from her grandfather at the age of eight.

She started diving in 2012 and naturally brought the camera underwater. After working as a dive instructor, she moved into technical diving and is now a certified trimix and full cave diver. Even so, she still has a particular love for shallow dives and small underwater subjects.

Most of her diving has been in cold water and freshwater in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Alongside her photography, she also writes for diving magazines and takes part in splash-in competitions and photo marathons.

In 2026, Kerstin won the Compact category at the Danish Open in Underwater Photography.

Her current setup includes an OLYMPUS TG-7 in an IKELITE housing with an AOI wide-angle wet lens and a WEEFINE ring light.
